An effective unit for mid-size areas, this 7,800-Btu air conditioner from Panasonic features an energy-efficient construction and a range of comfort settings. Sized for between 300 and 350 square feet, the unit is operated with a straightforward soft touch digital panel or the included remote control for extra convenience. Its settings include cool, economy, fan, and dry, and a temperature range from 60 to 86 degrees F. In addition, three fan speeds and an oscillating air distribution system help maximize circulation. The 12-hour timer, programmable in 1-hour intervals, is among the unit's best features and can be set to turn the machine on or power it down.
